Last weekend saw lots of you come together to fundraise for our charity!
Our two biggest partnerships, Sainsbury’s and UK Garrisons took part in events over Saturday and Sunday and raised over £1000 between them!
The guys from UK Garrisons included Steve Hill, Mark Shearman and Rob Denehan took part in Tough Mudder in London on Saturday. They worked so well as a team, especially after one of them injured a rib near the beginning, but they battled through ice cold water, electric shocks and the nasty mud to get to the finish line.
On Sunday, Newbury Park Sainsbury’s celebrated us winning their charity of the year with a launch day which included theUK Garrisons coming down with their Star Wars cosplay! Darth Vader and his officer had fun running after shoppers, having photos with the children and tormenting the staff!
We also had our professional face painter and glitter tattooists to entertain the children as well as colouring and guess the weight of the cake. We also had a tombola and merchandise for shoppers to contribute to and we were busy from beginning to end.
The staff and volunteers at Sainsbury’s dressed up as a Whoopee Cushion, Snow White and The Beast which added to the mornings entertainment!
We cannot thank UK Garrisons enough for their dedication and hard work to our charity, not only just this weekend, but throughout the year.
Steve, Rob and Mark have so far raised over £400 for taking part in Tough Mudder over the weekend but you can still sponsor them on this link.
Sainsbury’s Newbury Park raised over £600 on Sunday with our activities and we are so grateful to the staff and volunteers for coming up with ideas and giving up their Sunday to help us.
We have lots more coming up with them throughout the year!
