Easter Gift Appeal 2025: A Day of Smiles, Hugs & Heartfelt Memories

22/4/2025

This Easter, we were blown away by the generosity of our incredible community. Thanks to your kindness, our Amazon Wish List was flooded with activity gifts that came in thick and fast! Every parcel that landed in our office carried with it the love and thoughtfulness of someone who cared — and that love made its way directly into the hearts of the children at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

To everyone who supported, donated, and spread the word: thank you. You’ve truly made a difference. Go ahead and give yourselves a well-deserved pat on the back — you helped light up the faces of some very brave little ones.

On the day of delivery, our amazing Community Fundraiser, Kim, fully embraced the Easter spirit by donning a spectacular Easter Bunny outfit. With her fluffy ears and big heart, she hopped through the hospital corridors and brought joy to
30 rooms across the Lion, and Elephant wards. The children, many of whom had tubes in their noses and were clearly going through tough times, still managed to smile, laugh, and even cuddle the Easter Bunny. It was incredibly moving to see their spirits lifted, even just for a moment.

The hospital staff at GOSH are nothing short of heroes. The compassion and care they show every single day is awe-inspiring. It’s clear that their work isn’t easy — but it’s deeply appreciated by every family they support.
One special moment from the day came when Kristel, who had spent two years at GOSH with her son Mitchell, asked to visit the hospital’s chapel. Despite all the time they spent there, she had never set foot inside. It was a serene, sacred space — and in a quiet corner, Kristel wrote a message to hang in memory of little Mitchell. It was a heartfelt and emotional moment that reminded us of why we do what we do.

We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Great Ormond Street Hospital for allowing us to make this special visit each year. Being welcomed into the hospital, to share some joy and light during the holidays, is a privilege we never take for granted.

To all our little fighters on the ward: you are the real superheroes. Your courage, your strength, and your smiles in the face of so much are truly humbling. We are with you, always.

Thank you once again to everyone who made this Easter Gift Appeal a success. You brought magic, hope, and light into a place that needed it most.

Team Mitchell x
