September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month – a time to shine a light on the children and families affected by cancer and to come together in solidarity, support, and hope. At Mitchell’s Miracles, we invite you to join our Go Gold Campaign and help us raise awareness and vital funds to support families facing one of life’s toughest battles.

Why Go Gold?

Childhood cancer affects far too many families every year.
📊 The facts:
  • Around 1,800 children in the UK are diagnosed with cancer annually.
  • Neuroblastoma, the cancer our charity supports families through, mainly affects children under 5 years old.
  • Childhood cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease in children.
These statistics are sobering, but together, we can create awareness, bring hope, and provide meaningful support for families in need.

The Story of the Gold Ribbon

The gold ribbon is recognised around the world as the official symbol for Childhood Cancer Awareness.
Why gold? Because children are as precious and strong as gold. Just like this rare and valuable metal, they are resilient, irreplaceable, and deserving of protection.
The ribbon was first introduced by parents and advocates who wanted a unifying symbol for childhood cancer – much like the pink ribbon for breast cancer. They chose gold to honour the bravery of children battling cancer and to remind us all that their lives are invaluable.
When you wear, share, or display a gold ribbon, you’re not only raising awareness but also standing in solidarity with children and families facing unimaginable challenges.

How You Can Join the Go Gold Campaign

There are so many simple but powerful ways to take part this September. Here are just a few ideas:
✨ Paint Your Nails Gold – A bold and visible way to show support and start conversations.
✨ Wear Gold Jewellery – Symbolise your solidarity with children fighting cancer.
✨ Decorate Your Workplace Gold – Balloons, banners, ribbons – every splash of gold helps raise awareness.
Small actions can have a big impact.

Shop Our Go Gold Merchandise

One of the most impactful ways you can support is by purchasing from our Go Gold merchandise collection. Not only will you be raising awareness by proudly wearing gold, but every purchase directly helps fund essential support for families affected by neuroblastoma.
