When little Mitchell was receiving chemotherapy over Easter in Great Ormond Street, he felt very isolated and very sad. We were hearing of everyone taking their children to the zoo’s and having lots of fun (which is how it should be). But like Mitchell, there were also so many children on the ward that had to miss out on all the Easter fun.
There were Easter eggs being given out to the children on the ward which had been donated from many charities, BUT… many of the children on the oncology ward couldn’t eat the Easter eggs. This could be because they are feeling very sick or their tummy’s and mouth have ulcers due to chemotherapy side affects. So to be handed an egg at Easter can be another added piece of sadness to these children.
So Mitchell’s Miracles are asking our supporters to help by donating an Easter gift to the very brave children who are battling cancer on the oncology ward. If you work within a company, maybe you could share our appeal with all your work colleagues.
Here is our Amazon wish list which lists lots of Easter gifts and this will be sent direct to our office.
Appeal will end on the 27th March 2018 for delivery on the 28th March
