Welcome to 2019.
We have lots coming up in 2019, but firstly here is a round up of how 2018 ended.
Mitchell’s Miracles was very busy in the lead up to Christmas and we had little time to give you all an update on what we had been up to, so here it is.
October 2018, we was lucky enough to attend MCM Comic Con at the Excel in London with our supporters UK Garrison. and we raised £1,600.00 over the weekend with our collection buckets. We will be going back again in May 2019. #badguysdoinggood
The start of December see our Mitchell’s Merry Bauble Ball, which was held at The Ye Olde Plough in Bulphan. What a night that was with the great entertainment from our comedian Graeham Matthews, singer Charlotte Inglis, and music by TG Tunes.
The venue was amazing the food was delicious and everyone danced the night away.
This event raised over £1300.00, which goes a long way in supporting our families.
You may of heard via our FaceBook page how we set an appeal for Christmas gifts to be donated for the Oncology ward at Great Ormond Street !!
On the 20th December we visited 30 rooms across the Elephant, Lion and Giraffe ward, and we had our amazing supporters the UK Garrisons in attendance to help with the distribution, and to create many smiles and photo opportunities for the families.
December also bought some very sad news for one of our families. April-Leigh Bird’s family was given the devastating news that April Leigh Bird had become terminal. We decided we needed to do something very special, and so we set up a Christmas card appeal. Very quickly it went viral, we received over 4000 cards and a huge amount of gifts.
On the 18th of December we visited little April with the big man himself (Santa Claus), and April smiled, clapped her hands and even gave Santa a high 5.
Unfortunately on Thursday 3rd January 2019 April gained her angel wings on, with her mummy and daddy by her side. We decided to set up an appeal to help towards the cost of April’s funeral, flowers and extra financial support with food vouchers. An amazing £2725.00 was raised to give April the best send off she deserved.
A new sponsor for Mitchell’s Miracles.
We was contacted at the end of last year by a company called 2gether insurance, after hearing about our appeal for April. They had sent the family £1000.00 to help them at their very difficult time. They then made contact with us again at the start of the year and we were given the amazing news that they would like to be a direct sponsor of Mitchell’s Miracles by giving a very generous monthly donation, so we can reach out to even more families Nationwide.
How many families did Mitchell’s Miracles support ?
From January 2018 to December 2018 we supported 26 families Nationwide with a financial grant. We could not of done this without your fundraising activities, donations, and Corporate donations. We endeavour to support even more families in 2019, and we hope that you will help us achieve this, so that no family feel’s alone and struggles with the financial worries that goes with caring for a child who is receiving hospital care for Neuroblastoma.
Thank you for your continued support.
