Making a difference for families affected by Neuroblastoma

Easter Gift Appeal at Great Ormond Street Hospital

Easter Gift Appeal at Great Ormond Street Hospital

With the help of all of your amazing Easter Gifts, we were able to put a smile on nearly 30 children’s faces on the cancer wards at Great Ormond Street hospital.
The play specialists have stated that we are the only charity who give Easter gifts instead of Eggs, and they are extremely grateful because unfortunately over the Easter weekend the Play specialists are closed which means there are no activities for the children. So by us handing each child with a bag each full of toys and craft making sets, colouring books etc, it will help pass the time away that little bit more.
We managed to take a couple of photos of some amazingly beautiful brave children and we certainly got the thumbs up today from one little boy, who couldn’t wait to paint his eggs.

Thank you to everyone who sent a gift and to the local businesses The Entertainer, Smyths Romford who gave us a gift card to buy presents and to our Partners Sainsbury’s Brewery who did a collection of goodies too.

We will be doing it all again in 2020.

Raising awareness of Neuroblastoma MCM COMIC CON WEEKEND

What a fantastic weekend we’ve had raising awareness and collecting donations at MCM Comic Con with @The UK Garrison and @Silver Sabres Combat Academy
We always feel very privileged to be invited along to this event by our direct supporters UK Garrisons. They are such a welcoming and supportive team.

We would like to say a massive thank you to our volunteers , talking about our charity and collecting an amazing amount of money.

Thank you to everyone who popped by to say hello and made a donation, it really means a lot.

We raised just under £2,000.00

What a challenge !!!

Congratulations to Paddy Watts for completing the ultimate challenge “Mount Kilamanjaro” for Mitchell’s Miracles.

Paddy set off on a long journey in April to take on this challenge of a lifetime, and pledged to raise £2,000.00. Paddy is a mural painter and a way of reaching his target, he offered to paint a portrait for £75 offer or to paint a mural to any specifications Nationwide. He did all he could to try and hit his target, and even his company Mace donated £500.00, then the £500.00 was match funded to another £500.00, he collected £750.00 on FaceBook fundraiser.

For all of his hard work in collecting donations he raised an outstanding £1,700.00.

Huge well done Paddy x

Abseil from the Affinity Water Tower (To Infinity & Beyond) …..

Affinity Water Tower Abseil

We were invited by the Rotary club to join them on there annual abseil at the Affinity Water Tower in Harlow. We had seven amazing supporters who challenged themselves to climb 120 feet down the tower. The weather was against them on the day, with strong winds, hail and rain, but that did not stop them.

Between the team they raised over £2,000.00.

If you would be interested in signing up for 2020’s abseil, please email info@mitchellsmiracles.co.uk

Final day of Partnership with Sainsbury’s @ the Brewery 2019

We had an amazing day of fundraising with our Sainsbury’s Partners. The local community loved having a photo taken with our special guests Spider-man and Storm-trooper who are volunteers from the UK Garrisons. We held a tombola, gave out free balloons and talked to shoppers all day about our cause. It is the 150 year of Sainsbury’s, so they are taking a break from Partnership, so they can give to other causes for 150 days. We’ve had a great year with the store, and they go above and beyond to raise awareness, volunteer there time and give donations for tombola days. We hope to join forces with them again in the future. An update of funds raised will be announced very soon.

One of our families say’s a big thank you to Mitchell’s Miracles !!

Please read a lovely message sent from one of our families that we’ve recently supported.

Kira’s mum hasn’t understandably been able to work, and really wanted to be able to give Kira a bedroom she can enjoy for when her friends visit her.

“Dear Mitchell’s Miracles
Thank you so much for the kind financial grant you sent us to help with freshening up Kira’s bedroom . We used the money to put towards new wardrobes for her room .
She has been living with Neuroblastoma for five years and has always been in treatment, making it difficult to do a makeover . Her new treatment is an ALK inhibitor and we are managing it from home – thus, giving us the opportunity to update her bedroom and to make it more habitable for her teenage friends to visit.
Thank you so much for putting a big smile on Kira’s face and for helping us to finance this project .
Best Wishes,
Aud Noble (Kira’s mum).”
