The weekend of 19th-21st February saw The Mitchell Huth Memorial Fund raise awareness for Neuroblastoma at The Baby Show which took place at the Excel, London.
Our aim was to chat to parents and parents-to-be about the signs and symptoms of this childhood cancer, as well as adding people to our mailing list and accepting donations on the day.
Here is our story of how the weekend went!
Our Stand B13
Team Mitchell were holding the fort for us and getting a feel of how the event will go.
We were doing glitter tattoos for any children that wanted them for a donation to the charity, and although it was quiet on the day, we still got to talk to some lovely people about what we do.

We expected Saturday to be busy and it did not disappoint. Before lunch, we had managed to get at least 100 emails entered into our prize draw to win Mothercare vouchers, as well as lots of people interested about what we do as a charity.
It was heaving around lunchtime, and we had a few celebrities walk passed us including Jimmy Bye, Martin Fowler in Eastenders!
Kristel, Mitchells Mum loves the show so was the best person to run after him to give him one of our leaflets!
After lunch, we brought our Mickey Mouse mascot out for the children who were passing by and they could have their photos taken with him, we also let people know the costume was available to hire through us and all the proceeds are donated to the charity, more of which you can read about here.
We also had fun face painting, check out this super Batman!
Day three and we were starting to feel exhausted but we were looking forward to getting stuck in again!
If we thought Saturday was busy, then Sunday was absolutely packed! Which meant our prize draw entries were filling up and so was our donation buckets!
We spoke to hundreds of you about what we do, some of you had heard of Neuroblastoma, others wanted to know more about this type of cancer and some amazing people even offered to help out in future.
We had PR companies, dance troupes, small businesses and corporate all network with us and exchanging cards which is exactly what we wanted to get out of the Baby show.
By lunchtime, we had filled out three pages of emails and contacts, and face painted even more children which meant more donations to us!
Highlight of the day was when celebrity , Ian Watkins, (H from pop band Steps) walked passed which was an opportunity I did not want to miss! He was so lovely and accepted a selfie, signed my cd and took a leaflet about our charity which was the most important thing!

Our stand also included our glow in the dark wristbands, Haribo sweets and balloons all free to give away to adults and children as a thank you for supporting us!
By the end of the weekend, we had around 450 email addresses, and donations to the amount of £141!
We would like to thank the team at The Baby Show for having us, and everybody that came and spoke to us, signed up to our mailing list, donated, took a leaflet, accepted a balloon and gave us a hello!
We had an absolutely wonderful time and we hope to meet you at future events and fundraisers!
