Your wing walk questions, answered!

Can my friends and family come to watch my wing walk?

Friends and family are more than welcome to join you on your experience. On site there is a homely café (which serves both hot and cold dishes) as well as a large garden area giving your audience unrestricted views of your performance.

Is there a weight limit?

There is an upper weight limit of 13st 4lb. All wing walkers will be weighed prior to briefing.

Is there an age limit?

All wing walkers must be at least 18 years old and no older than 65 years old.

What should I wear?

Clothes should be warm, but not bulky, with soft soled flat shoes (like plimsolls or trainers) and gloves, if you wish. No hoodies or scarves are allowed. You will be provided with goggles and ear plugs.

Can I wear glasses during the flight?

Yes, all wing walkers will be given goggles to wear during the flight and we have some larger ski goggles which fit comfortably over the top of most frames.

Can I wear contact lenses during the flight?

No, unfortunately, even with goggles there is a lot of wind pressure and therefore a risk of contact lenses moving in the eye. We recommend taking contacts out and wearing glasses underneath the goggles provided.

I suffer from travel sickness, will I feel sick during the wing walk?

Travel or motion sickness is often brought on in enclosed spaces where there is a lack of fresh air and disorientation results from a lack of forward visibility. During a wing walk you can see the horizon and there is plenty of fresh air, so people rarely suffer from motion sickness.

How long will the flight last?

The flight lasts approximately 10 minutes from take off to landing.

Will the aeroplane do aerobatics?

No. There will be no loops and rolls, but there will be low dives and sharp turns, to ensure that you have an exhilarating experience! A more gentle flight is also available, if preferred.

Can I do loops and rolls?

You can only do loops and rolls once you have completed a previous wing walk.

How high does the aeroplane fly?

The aeroplane will fly to a maximum of 700ft and a minimum of 100ft on waving-runs.

How fast does the aeroplane fly?

The aeroplane will fly between 80mph and up to 130mph.

Can I have my wing walk filmed?

Yes. A video recording of the experience may be purchased on the day for £50. This is recorded on a memory stick from a professional HD camera system which has two camera views with cockpit sound.

What if the weather is bad?

The weather is unpredictable in the UK so please call our operational number 48 hours before your flight to confirm the suitability of the weather. If your wing walk is cancelled, we will re-arrange another suitable date.

How long will the experience last from arrival to completing my wing walk?

In normal circumstances, you will fly within 90 minutes of your pre-arranged safety briefing time-slot.

How do I get on top of the aeroplane?

All wing walkers will need to be able to climb, unassisted, onto the wing of the aeroplane, which will require a level of flexibility.

Can I communicate with the pilot during the wing walk?

Wing walkers may communicate with the pilot via hand signals during the flight, this will be explained during the safety briefing before your wing walk.
