About Mitchell's Miracles, children's cancer charity, Romford, Essex

Mitchell's Miracles, children’s cancer charity, was founded on the 4th July 2013 in legacy of Mitchell Huth. He was 7 years old when he lost his life to Neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer. It was due to Mitchell's bravery that his parents felt compelled to start this local children’s charity based in Romford, London. Read Mitchell’s story in full and more about why the charity was founded.

Who we are

We are a small registered children’s cancer charity consisting of 5 part time staff members, with the aim of keeping expenditure to a minimum. That way the majority of charitable donations given to Mitchell's Miracles go towards maintaining our charity's aims and objectives; helping families who have children with Neuroblastoma.

Kristel
FOUNDER OF MITCHELL'S MIRACLES
I founded Mitchell's Miracles charity on the 4th July 2013 in legacy of our son Mitchell Huth. My previous background was working in the travel industry. My focus in life is to make a huge difference to families affected by Neuroblastoma and to raise awareness of the condition to people across the UK.

COMMUNITY FUNDRAISER
I love working for Mitchell's Miracles! I know that without people like Kristel, the children and families on this terrible journey would suffer even more. I followed Mitchell's journey and saw the love our community gave to his cause.  I jumped at the chance to be part of Mitchell's legacy and work for this wonderful charity.

FUNDRAISER
I love working for Mitchell's Miracles as a Fundraiser. Knowing that I can help families who need it the most makes every day very rewarding. The charity is small so the focus is on who we help. The story behind Mitchell's Miracles and how the charity was founded makes me think how lucky I am and I want to make an impact in some way.

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT WORKER
Working as the Emotional Support worker is a really rewarding job! I have wanted to work for Kristel for years and when I was offered the opportunity, I was really excited and felt honoured. The work that Kristel has done to support families and raise awareness of Neuroblastoma is incredible and she genuinely inspires me (and many others) every day. Mitchell's Miracles is a very special charity and I love being part of it and making a difference.

TRUSTS AND FUNDING OFFICER
Working as the Trusts and Funding Officer and I believe in everything the charity stands for. Kristel is a big part of this and when you work for her, you feel as if you're working for Mitchell. It's a nice responsibility to have. I feel like we're working to preserve Mitchell's legacy and all our work has a real purpose for supporting the families we work with, and that's an incredibly important feeling to have. Our Neuroblastoma charity does great work and I'm thrilled to be a member of this great team.

Our Mission

Our mission is two-fold. Firstly, we want to raise awareness amongst the local and UK population about the early signs and symptoms of childhood cancer Neuroblastoma. Early detection of Neuroblastoma means that a child has a greater chance of survival, if diagnosed early. We also want to reduce the number of cases that are missed every year.

Secondly, it is our aim to be one of the best Neuroblastoma children's cancer charities in the UK. Raising vital funds to support families (emotionally and financially), whilst their child is receiving medical care, is a lifeline that helps families stay afloat and survive their journey. Our purpose is to give them one less thing to worry about and focus instead on what matters; taking care of their child and themselves.
