Are you ready for a "spooktastic" night with Mitchell's Miracles & Spirit Paranormal?

Date: 29th October Venue: Harwich Fort Time: 7pm-3am
The team at Mitchell’s Miracles have been working hard this year to bring more light-hearted entertainment to our supporters.

Have you ever wanted to be an investigator? If the answer is YES, then we have the perfect event for you…  On Saturday the 29th October, Mitchell’s Miracles will be teaming up with the “Spirit Paranormal” ghost hunting group for a night to remember, investigating the hauntings of Redoubt Fort in Harwich.

The moated Redoubt Fort was built in 1808 and is an impressive 180ft (60m) diameter circular building used to defend the port of Harwich against a Napoleonic invasion. Ten guns sit on the battlements. Eighteen casements below would house 300 troops in siege conditions. It mounted ten 24-pounders and housed a regiment of soldiers with sufficient food and stores to with stay a lengthy siege. Fortunately, it was never called upon to demonstrate its powers.

The fort was restored by the Harwich Society as a voluntary project. Part of the fort is now used as a military museum. Battle re-enactments and other events are held during the summer months. For more information visit Harwich Redoubt Fort.

Certified paranormal investigator, Jan Saunders, is really excited to be supporting Mitchell’s Miracles with this charitable event. Jan has many stories of her experiences whilst investigating the many venues they visit around the UK.

Jan assured me that all participants interested, will be given the chance to experience some of their great ghost hunting equipment, such as, K2’s, REM pods, trail cameras, music boxes, SLS’s, lasers, Dictaphones and more.

SO…If you are looking for a more unique challenge, and are up for a scare, then please join us on an eerie, ghost experience tour of “Harwich Fort” …enter at your own risk!

You could take this experience a little further, as there is an option to bed down in the fort for the night. You can pitch a tent up in the moat area and have a 360 view of the surrounding spooky area… “Whatever You Do, Don’t Fall Asleep.”

Fancy dress is optional, but there will be a ghostbusting prize for the best costume.

Venue: Harwich Fort, Main Rd, HARWICH. CO12 3LT

Go Gold this September!

Childhood Cancer awareness month, Some people never meet their hero. I gave birth to mine.

As September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we would like to take this opportunity to highlight what children with childhood cancer have to face as part of their treatment.

Certain cancers such as Neuroblastoma, Leukaemia or Lymphoma can lower the platelet count.

The abnormal cells in these cancers can crowd out healthy cells in the bone marrow, where platelets are made.

Platelets, or thrombocytes, are small, colourless cell fragments in our blood that form clots and stop or prevent bleeding. Platelets are made in our bone marrow, the sponge-like tissue inside our bones. Bone marrow contains stem cells that develop into red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.

Signs and symptoms can include:
  • Easy bruising.
  • Tiny red spots on your skin.
  • Excess bleeding after even minor injuries.
  • Pain in your joints, particularly large joints like the knees and hips.
  • Frequent nosebleeds.
  • Bleeding from the mouth or gums.
  • Blood in the urine or stool.
  • Headaches.

If a child’s platelet count is too low, it could affect receiving their Chemotherapy.

How can you help?

You can show your support by Going Gold for the month of September and by donating platelets, bloods, funds or time. All contributions are greatly appreciated!

Receiving bloods is vital, without a normal haemoglobin count they can become asymptomatic.

Signs and symptoms can include:
  • Fatigue.
  • Weakness.
  • Pale skin and gums.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • A fast or irregular heartbeat.

Please, share to show you care.

By Sharing our posts, you can help spread awareness to our cause, which could save a child's life…it only takes a few minutes! 💛

If you have been following us on Instagram or Facebook, you may already know that the wonderful Romford Raiders have chosen Mitchell’s Miracles as their charity to support for the 2022/23 season with their first game staring this Sunday the 4th of September, face off starting at 5.15pm.

We are so excited that we cannot stop sharing the amazing news and on Sunday the 17th of July, the Mitchell’s Miracles Team met with the Romford Raiders to witness the unveiling of this season’s shirt.

Everyone in attendance was so warm and kind. The Mitchell’s Miracles Team had a great time and cannot wait until to attend their game!

Pictured above is the Romford Raiders SPECIAL Warm Up Shirt, which heart-warmingly had Mitchell’s name and the birth date on the back (17), we were all touched deeply by this lovely gesture!

The Warm Up Shirt boasts our lime green and blue colours with a big “M” on the front for Mitchell. We love the uniform and cannot wait to purchase one of our own to wear on game day!

Why not come along and see us at their game on Sunday, you can purchase a Romford Raiders Jersey and book tickets online.

Thank you again to the Romford Raiders Ice Hockey Club for your support💙
